Very eye opening and educational, this is a book not only about wine but life and the energies that compose it and what creates and disrupts the balance/harmony of life.
The title of this book should be the reverse. Something like "Mysticism and biodynamic wines" because it's complete craziness what's in here. If you're looking to learn how to grow grapes in a sustainable and organic way based on science, THIS IS NOT THE BOOK FOR YOU. If you're looking for the ramblings of a crazy person, by all means purchase.
Fascinating. I tend to think that a lot of Joly's ideas are just hocum, however this is a seminal book in understanding the thought process behind the making of biodynamic wine. A clear and concise explanation of all of the important ideas - a must read for anyone who is curious about viticulture.
I like how he introduces us to the concept of how biodynamic wine is made and the importance of it, i would have liked a bit more deeper explanations in why the processes used will have an influence in the grape, but without doubt worth a read and worth buying and appreciating this wines.
I consider the content of the book very dogmatic. There are too much places in which the author asume many things which a not proven.
