I was Confused what to get to start, Study, and pass PMP.I've read PMBOK (5) two times, barely understood 1/3 of it.Then when decided to take the exam, I browsed many sources, starting from $10 to $120. But I said, when checked this, I like it (let say) its simple way to explain the high level of PMBOK 5.So, I start reading PMBOK again (3rd time) along with this source, and for the first time, I start understanding PMBOK much better.This resource contained a lot of good examples of how to "breakdown" the topics of PMBOK. Plus, at each end of the chapter, I took a trial exam, always failing. But I kept going and going until I finished all chapters and their individual exams.In the end, there are the mockup exams (5 mockups), I finished only 4 of them. Then the day of exam came. PASSED IT (All Praise To Allah).This source worth the price and can get you a lot of Information. I was looking at other sources of more than 40 up to 120 USD, but this can make the differences.The Only thing that may need for attention is more organization, other than that, It is good.Wish You All Good Luck.
Author does a great job of covering key topics. Uses real world examples and has a notes and takeaway section at the end of each chapter with tips and tricks, including the various inputs and outputs of each process---which is super helpful to know on the exam.Note: an exam simulator is given with access to this book, but as of the time of this review, its a 5th edition exam which means that its pretty useless as it uses the wrong process names, and dated info/practices and explanations.Also, this book barely covers Agile which came up several times on the exams. Would recommend some separate Agile resources to get that perspective as well.oh and as others have mentioned there is the occasional typo or weird grammar issue. The later seems to be mostly related to the author speaking Indian English. Just read it with an accent and it makes perfect sense ^_^Still, despite these limitations, I was very pleased with the material and it helped me iron out my understanding of various processes. Would recommend!
I just purchased and will revisit rating when complete.Initial impression is that I like the content, but as another reviewer suggested, you need an editor.Existing:Wherever in the book any of the 49process name shows up its coloredpink and italicized with and in adifferent font like this for emphasisHow about:PMI process names are in italics and shaded pink.I am requesting a refund.The definition of a project PMIA project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result.Book has a different definition that includesprogressive elaboration.Best
The author's claim that his book is unlike any other on the market ("as of yet") is well-founded and absolutely true. For those studying for the PMI exam, I would highly recommend this book - but definitely download the a sample of.it to confirm you can handle the author's writing style as it's loaded with grammatical and syntactical errors which I found VERY distracting. The drawings and diagrams in the book are awesome and make certain concepts easier to study and retain. I've read two additional books (by Rita M. & J. Phillips) and can appreciate this author's approach to making the PMBOK & PMP material digestible. Thanks, Veejay for taking the monotony out of the otherwise dull material.
Its an excellent guide which provides detail insights into the process and knowledge areas of the PMBOK6. Easy to understand and provides the ninja drills which is effective to retaining important aspects of every process.
I Stumbled on this ebook after spending a month trying to understand the first couple of chapters of the BABOK and having given up for several months more. This book is a game-changer. Maneesh Vijaya obviously has a lot of professional success and knowledge on the topic. He is probably a genius as well. Using easy and colorful illustrations, he creates a mind-mapping technique, paired with real world examples and to-the-point explanations, to help the reader absorb and retain information. Instead of falling asleep like I did on the BABOK and Udemy PMP exam prep class, with this book (Read And Pass Notes For PMP Exams), I am moving from page to page with excitement. My understanding of PM work is greatly elevated since this book. Suddenly I am thinking beyond passing the exam.@BABOK, please hire and learn from this guy. People complain about a few typos here. The real distraction is an expensive lack-luster book such as the BABOK that is so dense, it's literally a waste of trees and effort.@ManeeshVijaya , I want a paper version of this book. Much to learn from a great mind. Thank you
I used this as my primary study resource while preparing for the PMP exam. I struggled staying awake reading the PMBOK, but I was actually able to absorb more of the information from this book. The book and the practice tests were very helpful, but could use an editor to help with grammar and spelling. There were also some questions in the practice tests that were based on the fifth edition, not the sixth. All that said, I passed the test on my first attempt, and the vast majority of my study time was spent using this book and the practice tests that it gives access to!
The author understands the subject matter and has developed a good method for delivery. Unfortunately, the book contains so many spelling and grammatical errors they tend to obscure the subject matter. As an aspiring PMP, I have learned it is not only what you say, but how you say it that determines how the message is received. This book needs a good editor.
