About the Author

One of Freddie Levin's earliest memories is sitting at her grandmother's kitchen table coloring with her bright and chunky crayons. Since then, she has graduated to more intricate tools, and her artwork has illustrated numerous picture books, greeting cards, and products. She is the author/illustrator of two award winning book series about drawing, 1 2 3 Draw and Draw Plus Math and Science. When not drawing and painting, she enjoys gardens, birds, yoga, Chopin and pretty much any kind of pie.Judy Dick is an author and illustrator of many books, including the Building Jewish Identity series. She studied art at both Yeshiva University and Pratt Institute, and is currently an editor at Scholastic. She looks forward to trying her hand at coloring in the intricate pages of this book.

LOVE this coloring book. It looks simple but once you start coloring you realize that this is not the case! I am having so much fun with either my new set of jewel tone markers or watercolor pencils. I recommend this for anyone who loves to color, wants a calming activity and enjoys Judaic designs. I plan to buy as gifts too.

The cheapest paper...i tried coloring with small tipped crayola markers & the paper started coming apart. Should print on better paper for customer to be able to work with it.

I was really disappointed in this coloring book. Typically, I can find many pages to color but in this book I found absolutely nothing. There was not one picture worthy of my time. I realize this kind of thing happens when you purchase something sight unseen. It's sad because I realize a lot of work was put into producing this book.I had recently purchased another book which had an awesome cover and I found only a few pages to color.Lesson Learned .. I will only purchase coloring books from stores where I can look through the pages. It should be noted that I have found very few books that I made me want to color all of the pages but this book had nothing to offer.

This is such a lovely book! I used it with my religious school children and they loved it! We'll be using them as part of our Chanukah decorations!

I promise no spoilers, but nevertheless must add that the novel, Charisma, concludes in a most satisfying manner, both from the standpoint of the story, which was compelling, as well as the science presented, which was accurate and 21st Century from page 1 to page 374 (including the Author's Note).Although the book was a "page turner," my schedule forced me to read it over a three-day span. Being written in the first person, it provided an almost chilling peek into the personality and neuroses of Aislyn the young protagonist who, to overcome her teenage anxiety, allows herself to be injected with a gene therapeutic drug that "works" essentially overnight. The state of mind (and more) into which Aislyn finds herself is both exhilarating and eye-opening (as in the "third eye" sense).Both the lead up to and aftermath of her one time dose of Charisma provided me with an in-depth view of a transformation that was, quite frankly, chilling. I felt Aislyn's anxieties prior to the transformation and her growing concerns after the transformation as she became increasingly concerned about some of the drug's apparent side effects. Many very real concerns about gene therapy were unveiled as well as some of its potential benefits.The writing was crisp and to the point. The story line was brisk and entertaining. No doubt, this novel will be made into a major motion picture, and I can only hope that the serious points highlighted will be dramatized without dulling the "thriller" aspect of this outstanding five star novel.

I could not put CHARISMA down! I read this book in two sittings and was anticipating the end and making predictions throughout. I loved that I was wrong sometimes because of the unexpected turns the book took. Those unexpected twists made it even more enjoyable and challenged me to read carefully as the suspense built and my anticipation increased. I find gene therapy an interesting topic, especially all of the good that may come from it, but would not have time on my own to research it. Having that wrapped up in a fun novel with likable real characters made the book both a novel and a scientific journey. Thanks for another thought-provoking book, Jeanne Ryan!
